The Macci Philosophy
The Macci teaching philosophy is considered to be among the finest training methods in the world. His ability to motivate his students is truly in a class of its own. One of the aspects of the Macci philosophy is the belief in the team/family approach, building a bond among player, parent, and coach. "Behind every great
champion in any sport is a driving force, and most of the time it is mom, dad,
or both," Rick told the
New York Times.
RMTA is unique in allowing parents on the court to observe, take notes, and most
importantly, to interact with the staff. Having this team/family mindset and
reinforcing it daily in a positive manner creates a constant healthy flow of
communication among the people who care the most for the students.
Off the court, regular social family gatherings with the RMTA staff are welcome
breaks from the arduous path of becoming the best that you can be. Students,
parents, and other family members are always welcome to create fun and
camaraderie for all students at the Academy. It's a pleasant change of pace from
the intense training environment they rival in every day amongst themselves and
is critical in the creation of a healthy athlete.
